Hi all! This will be a very short post, I’m writing this like 6h before I depart to the USA and there’s a bunch of things to do still, so it’s just to say that today is the day I’m moving to make part of my PhD in Boston.
I have been feeling all the mixed feelings possible. I’m excited for what this adventure may bring, but also gutted for leaving my comfortable world here in Portugal and the things and people that make part of it. And note it’s not the first time I’m moving abroad. I’m wondering if things will go as I wish. They may or may not, but I have to keep going.
I know this experience will turn me into a better researcher and person. All I can say is that, after this month of January, despite moving to a self-hosted domain, I published quite little. I hope my time organization will be better and that I will bring you the insights about this city and all I have planned to write about. And wish me safe travels.
My favorite quote is by Albert Einstein. “Life’s like a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” These are words I try to live by and there’s no use in trying to restrict the movement.
You’ll hear again from me very soon, I promise!
